WHO WE HELP
Rehabilitation and sports massage for young people in West Yorkshire
Helping young people move comfortably and stay active.
As their bodies grow and they become more active, children and teenagers can experience pain, tightness and injuries related to growth, sport and physical activity.
These problems can make it difficult to take part in sport, PE, school and social activities, and can affect confidence too.
We'll work with your young person to understand what's going on and help them get back to the activities they enjoy.

CONDITIONS WE CAN HELP WITH
Growing bodies can face different challenges
Growth, activity and changing demands on the body can lead to a range of aches, pains and injuries during childhood and adolescence.
SUPPORT BUILT AROUND THEM
A plan built around your young person
Growing bodies need a different approach. We'll take the time to understand their symptoms, stage of growth and development, and the activities they want to get back to.

Assess
Look at movement, strength, flexibility and how their body is coping with activity.

Treat
Where appropriate, use age-appropriate hands-on treatment as part of their individual plan.

Rehabilitate
Use appropriate exercises to build strength, stability and movement while keeping them involved in their recovery.
Start with an Initial Assessment:

"Rural Rehab came highly recommended by a friend, with good reason. The care and support given has been professional, understanding and very helpful.... I feel totally at ease during the sessions."

FOR PARENTS & GUARDIANS
Growing bodies need a different approach
Children and teenagers are still growing, so their stage of growth and development needs to be considered when assessing pain, injury and activity.
We'll use age-appropriate exercises and communication, helping your young person understand what we're doing and stay involved in their recovery.
Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times during appointments at Rural Rehab.
YOUR GOALS
Helping young people stay active and confident

Improve Movement
Help them manage pain and move more comfortably during everyday activities.

Develop strength
Develop strength and stability appropriate to their age and stage of development.

Stay involved
Support them in continuing with the sport, PE and activities they enjoy where appropriate.

Treatment built around needs of young people
Treatment will depend on what's causing their symptoms, their stage of development and the activities they take part in. We'll build an appropriate plan around their individual needs.

GROWING & STAYING ACTIVE
Do they need to stop sport?
Not necessarily.
Growth-related knee or heel pain doesn't always mean your child needs to stop activity completely. Following an assessment, we can help you understand what may need to change and whether their activity should be reduced, adapted or temporarily paused.
Where appropriate, their plan may include changes to training alongside stretching and strengthening to help them stay comfortable and involved while their body adapts to growth.
